COC may clinically be diagnosed as calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumour, adenomatoid odontogenic tumour, ameloblastic fibroodontoma, complex or compound odontoma, dentigerous cyst or as other types of odontogenic cysts. Purpose: The aim is to present an unusual clinical case of COC assoc...
متن کاملA Case Report of Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst with Ameloblastic Proliferation
Calcifying odontogenic cyst is a developmental odontogenic cyst first described by Gorlin in 1962. It is considered as an extremely rare condition and shows extensive diversity in its clinicopathological appearances and biologic behavior. In this report a rare case of calcifying odontogenic cyst with ameloblastic proliferation (an extremely rare histologic variant) with one year follow – up is ...
متن کاملPeripheral calcifying odontogenic cyst presenting clinically as an eruption cyst: A case report
Calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is an odontogenic cyst with accumulation of ghost cells that has central and peripheral subsets. Here, we present an 11-year-old male patient with an intraoral swelling on the left posterior mandibular ridge interfering with eruption of the second molar. Histopathologic examination revealed a cystic lesion lined by ameloblast-like epithelium in the basal layer ...
متن کاملRecurrent Peripheral Calcifying Cystic Odontogenic Tumor (Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst)
Peripheral calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor (PCCOT) is a rare odontogenic lesion, which represents about 1% of jaw cysts. Here we report clinicopathologic, radiographic and CT scan images of a new case of recurrent large PCCOT located in mandibular gingiva in a 77-year-old male with history of a nodular mass in the same area, which had been completely excised 3 years ago. In reviewing the...
متن کاملSynchronization of Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst and Aneurysmal Bone Cyst: A Case Report
Although aneurysmal bone cysts and calcifying odontogenic cysts accompanied with other lesions are reported in the literature, the simultaneous occurrence of these two distinct lesions has not been reported. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report describing co-occurrence of these two lesions located in the left mandibular ramusin a 36-year-old woman.
